The Home Office.in x Corner Slate* A Case Study

Corner Slate* is among the top 10 in the US banking sector. Their operations in India revolve around creation of data products. Their team consists of associates with niche skill sets.

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the push into Work From Home culture, Corner Slate* saw the need for a change not just in the mode of work, but in the definition of ‘work essentials’.

In the past, the company had been giving their employees wellness kits, that could be availed as various products and services. With COVID shutting the door on this as an option, the company decided to focus on the wellness of their employees at home.

Cue, TheHomeOffice.in.

“I connected with Srikanth (CEO, The Home Office.in), in 2020 while looking for corporate gifting services. I was looking to change the way we took care of our associates during the pandemic.” says Jennifer*, head of strategic staff initiatives, command centre and workplace solutions at Corner Slate*.

Along with The Home Office.in, Corner Slate* wanted to create a new version of wellness, one that suited the module their employees were currently in.

The problem:

Assessing associates’ individual homes to understand their work from home needs was not possible.
Sending out products to employees through a third party vendor, did not comply with the company’s data sharing policy.

Our Solution:

As each associate had a different work environment at home, we offered them the power of choice by creating combos suited to their various potential needs.
We allowed Corner Slate* access into our warehouse for quality checks and to manage the shipping of the combos independently, so as to prevent data sharing.

The Process:

While a one-size fits all solution would be logistically easier, Jennifer* wanted to ensure that each associate got what they needed. The Home Office.in offers work for home products of homes of all sizes and kinds. This accompanied with the knowledge of ergonomics, went into curating the combos that associates of the company got to choose from.

Each of the products in the wellness kits were curated to suit specific home needs. The Home Office’s very own VersaTable, for example, allowed associates to work while sitting, standing, at various inclines and other diverse options. A total of 140 wellness kits went out to associates and were very well received.

“The response from our associates has been excellent. Unfortunately, due to privacy reasons employees couldn’t share their new and improved wellness kits online, but our WhatsApp internal groups were buzzing about them for days!” says Jennifer*

With WFH, evolving into more of an option than a circumstance, Corner Slate* has made the decision to roll out these combos to all new employees.

“The Home Office.in and OffiNeeds have evolved in all they offer and in their level of customization. They’ve built a level of confidence in us over time. They’ve always delivered, even in emergencies, and their customer orientation stands out. I am so happy we were able to overcome the data sharing challenge!” says Jennifer*

Corner Slate* has also worked with OffiNeeds on other projects, such as Women’s Day 2021, where they designed and gifted specially curated watches with custom boxes and logos.

“I worked with Sandhya for our wellness kits and Ganesh for women’s day. All the employees at OffiNeeds have excellent customer orientation. You can see it in everything they do, from the corporate gift show to their daily operations. It’s been special working with them and has created an impact. ” says Jennifer*
